Leonard passed away from Leukemia while we were still in school... I am pretty sure it was in 1976, but may have been in 1977. I will never forget his parents bringing him over to see me when he could still get out and about a little. God bless them for that! (Y'all he had to come see me because I didn't learn to drive until just before my 19th birthday! How's that for a confession!) He sat in my kitchen with me while I cut and scraped corn to freeze...and when he left he had corn all over him. Leonard was a great friend and I still think of him often.
Anyone else remember all his Patridge Family skits in elementary school and, uh, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang skits??? :-))

I remember Leonard saying in elem school that he wouldnt live to see 16. He wouldnt say why. How sad that he had to carry with him.
